Spendless....what a lovely way to spend time....you can't beat an outside party on a nice day.
I like to use my garden as another room whenever I get the chance. I am thinking of having a summer house but that might have to be next year. I need to hire a skip and clear a load of builders rubble first and get the shed emptied.
I'm also hoping to paint the shed once it's been emptied and cleaned up. I always wanted a she shed. :rotfl: or at least the potential for one, now I have one. It's a decent size but currently full of the previous owners clutter. Hoping to insulate it and turn that into a mini gym/workshop in the long run. It does have power and light so it's a very useful space.
How fab that your daughter is learning how to shop wisely. It's a great lesson to learn at a young age.
It took me half a lifetime ....:rotfl:
Mrs mac......I love the idea of being of going au natural but I really don't think we have the climate......maybe a few days a year.
I am sure your friend will find something suitable. All of the people I have met so far have been very welcoming. Obviously you "click" with some people more than others but it's a great no pressure way of meeting new people.
I have two meet up outings planned for next week, plus seeing existing friends. My social life is looking up..
Ps didn't light the chimena last night because I went out to dinner instead. So no star gazing. Apparently there's a storm forecast for tonight so I'll leave it for now.0 -
My Champagne moment yesterday was being able to wear a red vest top and a long paneled red linen skirt with a pair of my black patent leather Van Dal sandals with my brown Ralph Lauren Polo sunglasses when I was going to Sadler's Wells Theatre.
:j
My second Champagne moment was watching the dance show Somnium - A Dancer's Dream at Sadler's Wells which was a complete delight on all of the senses. It is a dance show written, created and choreographed by husband and wife World Ballroom champions and ex Strictly Come Dancing dancers, Katya Jones and Neil Jones. I was very lucky to get a special deal on a good seat in the Stalls, so I paid £15 rather than £55 for my ticket. I would give this dance show 10/10 as it managed to exceed my already high expectations.:j

It is great that your daughter has finally learnt the value of spending her money wisely and learning from your own frugal ways0 -
My Champagne moment yesterday was going to Karaoke. I had a really fun evening.
There were a lot of other singers so I only sang 2 songs:
1. Return to Sender by Elvis
2. Fever by Peggy Lee
My other champagne moment was wearing a purple size 14 dress that has not fit me for at least 2 years to Karaoke. As the weather was so warm this sleeveless, almost backless dress was ideal. I took a purple velour jacket with me, but did not need to wear it even on the way home from Karaoke as the weather was so good.0 -
Wow.....SUgarbaby bet you looked sensational. Purple would definitely suit you. I bought a gorgeous purple coat last year in the sales. It didn't fit right last winter but will be perfect for next winter. It has a huge (fake) fur collar so is dead glam.
Isn't it a fantastic feeling being able to wear clothes that have languished in our wardrobes for years. It's like having a load of new clothes. Talking about shopping from our wardrobes. :rotfl:
Great song choice. One of my outings this week is going to see an Elvis impersonator at a casino. I'm going to get dolled up for that one.
Tomorrow night it's a pop quizz in a pub so a bit more casual, thought I'd wear my fake snakeskin jacket with jeans for a cool "rock chick vibe" :rotfl:
It's such fun being able to wear cool clothes again.
And whilst we are on the subject of clothes and as this is a money saving challenge to live a champagne lifestyle on practically nothing I thought I'd share this with you.
A great champagne moment that bought a smile to my face.
When I went out on Saturday I was told I looked "gorgeous". I wore some of my best chazza shop bargains......a pair of grey pin stripe linen trousers, £2, and a grey crochet top which had a few sequins dotted through the weave £1.
My friends know me well, in fact they are charity shop queens too. When I confessed the cost of my outfit they laughed and said "well done", you must take us to that shop.:rotfl:
It just goes to show you really don't have to spend a million dollars to look or feel like million dollars.0 -

Well done that girl. It's never too late to turn over a new leaf and at just 30 she will save herself a small fortune in the years to come.
You are obviously a good role model.0 -
I have been lurking for a while but coming out from behind the arras to say I have finally got my new bathroom and it is FAB, Totally worth the money as LL and joedenise said about 50 pages ago. Champagne moment was being able to wash my hair without traipsing to the leisure centre..Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0

Ooh. Good to hear you are enjoying your new bathroom. It's a big messy job but worth the upheaval and expense.
Good morning everyone
But chilly here but apparently the sun is on its way.
Champagne moments yesterday......the satisfaction of prepping the back bedroom. Now ready to decorate, going to nip out and buy paint this morning.
Also last night I went out with some of the meet-up group. It was a pop quizz. Our team were trashed but I had a good time. It's not about the winning.... clicked with some nice people and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Joining Meet Up was definitely one of my better ideas..
Champagne moment this morning.....blood sugar levels down again. Wahoo. :rotfl: Losing weight slowly but steadily, feeling better. Although I'm very stiff and sore......need to book a massage.
Maybe I should look for a cheap spa break.......;)0 -
My Champagne moment yesterday was going to Karaoke and having a really fun evening. I sang 3 of my usual songs and I did a lot of dancing. I wore one of my classic white cotton M & S skirts with a cobalt blue Coast evening top with pleating detail and a pair of my white leather Van Dal sandals. I was carrying a navy blue and white handbag and a white cotton cardigan for my journey home from Karaoke.
I went out locally earlier in the day to run a few errands and I was really surprised at just how hot it was outside. It was a really welcome change in the weather for me though. It is great to be able to choose what summer clothing to wear and what sandals to wear. I wore a red & white t-shirt with a black skirt and a pair of my black patent leather Van Dal sandals and I was carrying my new red leather Osprey handbag.0
