Do you need to reset/recalibrate the system after you change pressure?

I do in my BMW and I have to drive a mile or two for it to gauge itself.

A quick check in the manual should give you the procedure.

Check the manual. Some cars need it to be reset manually. Others require you to drive for a mile or two.

Both my last car and current one have needed resetting when on their new pressure so this is the most likely solution.

As others have said RTFM ;)

The chances are that you need to reset the TPMS, which you probably should be doing everytime you adjust your tyre pressures.
  • thanks for all the reply. will check my manual and try resetting and see what happens.

It is a manual reset for the Fiesta. I've had to do it twice, once when I had new tyres fitted and once when the warning was displayed when driving on the motorway, although fortunately in the second case it was fake news and the pressures were actually fine.

Ok, here is the correct no nonsense info from a decent Northern UK DIY engineer. No special tools needed. Go into your menu and find the tyre pressure monitoring and do as it says to reset. (That is for a 17 reg Ford St Line) :-)
