Morning all - wet, grey and miserable outside even though the sunset last night promised much more.
I slept soundly again, not much coughing, I do that in the morning as my throat gets going. Last night I drank three quarters of a two litre bottle of fizzy water before going to sleep - no middle of the night wee so I must have been dehydrated.
Last night I watched the Remembrance service on TV, the changes made this year made it much more watchable for me. Still made me cry though. I have family lying in war graves from both WWs and from both sides.
DM is doing OK. She seems to have reconciled herself to the news much more than I have. I need more time to process stuff and will speak to her GP next week.
I've got the remains of a macaroni cheese to eat up today. Apart from that I'm just going to rest.
Hugs all round - Happy Sunday to all.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Extra hugs to Lee, I hope he gets the support he needs.
We had rain overnight, but the sun is struggling to get through.......
Usual start to Sunday, OH is watching TV, he did watch the last part of the Festival last night. I went to bed and read.
One smaller wall hanging backed and the binding put on, have the other one ready to bind. Unless I decide to do another couple of simple bags, will see what happens on Monday, no point if the school market is cancelled.
Pork for supper tonight, I bought a butternut squash so will roast some with the spuds. No idea what to have for dessert as yet, need to excavate the freezer.0 -
Hi chums lovely evening last night with the family and a really nice meal made by DD They all enjoyed the cookies which went down a treat we watched the Festival of Remembrance as my nephew Hughie is the vicar who lays the flags on the drum and has been going there for years as he is an ex RAF chaplain and a lovely chap.Vicar in a parish just outside Bury.
Off to youngest DDs later for dinner as usual, so no cooking for me today as I had my weetabix for breakfast, and will have some cheese and pate with grapes for a light lunch.A box of cookies made yesterday along with a HM apple pie will come with me as my contribution to Sunday's dinner.
Dreadful rainy night last night but its dried up at the moment with even a little bit of sun,but not very warm at the moment,so thick sock are the order of the day today with a warm cardi as well.

A late one from me today, after we walked the hound ,I decided to go to the Remberance Day Service in the Town Hall Square,to remember my DGrans 5 brothers who served in WW1 It was absolutely packed, and I couldnt see a great deal, being on the small side.It also rained hard but luckily the man stood behind me put a brolly up and it more or less kept me dry throughout. The Town Hall had poppies put around the pillars, and at the end hundreds of poppies were sent into the air from the roof, fluttering down. The rain had stopped by then and the sky turned blue,it was a very poignant moment.
I had a look around the shops after and then a coffee in M/S and DH pcked me up on his way back from checking on his job.
Nothing else planned apart from cooking flat iron steak for our tea. I took an apple pie out of the freezer earlier too. We ate out last night, surprise treat from DH.He has been working flat out for weeks and fancied a change, we had tapas &it was lovely. We got a shock when the bill came until I noticed 2 bottles of wine on there - we didnt have any wine.Anyway we got complimentary limoncello once it was pointed out.A quick drink in another bar on the way back,we were home for 10 so DH could watch the boxing with DSons.
Snoozer,ah so you're a Lancashire lass too, and Candy girlThe Pike is only 10 mins drive up the road from us.
Nelski, glad you slept better & I'm glad Holly is at her brothers.
Dumpling, sorry Lee is 'wobbling' at the moment-hope his CC can help.
Tru-hope there are no more scary hedgehogs coming through the door
OL- hope you dont have any more nightmares tonight.
Hugs to the ' not too good at the moment ' people xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Thank you for the welcome.
I'm very late posting, I saw in 4am but had to be up at 6am for the remembrance parade. It's lovely to be involved, but also very handy to have a hot flask and car to hand as it tipped down. But I must get a smaller flask, ours is 1.8 litres.
We got back in and for some bizarre reason decided it would be a good idea to do a deep clean as the animals make it “grubbier” at this time of year, so I set too on some skirting board and door frames while DH vaxed and then re vaxed, the joy of animals, but I stand by they are cheaper than therapy.
I am sitting here typing this when I should be making jelly with the remains that sieved last night but erm I’m still sitting here. I have food planned for a few days so feeling sort of organised.
Oh and a chap came to pick up some very excessively large speakers, one of many things I inherited from my DF earlier this year, they took up all of the box room “office”, now they are out I have to set to on de cluttering more inherited things, starting with 4 boxes of his various paperwork dating back to 1950’s.0
