is paying direct into a bank account a credit card purchase?

heres the short of it, i applied for a 22 month 0% interest credit card because i need to make a purchase of a £3500.

the credit card states the following:

Purchases for 22 months from account opening 0.000 % 0.000 %

Balance transfers for 3 months from account opening 0.000 % 0.000 %

Money transfers for 3 months from account opening 0.000 % 0.000 %

the payment i will be making is direct to a bank account. (a private health clinic)

does this count as a purchase or a money transfer or balance transfer, i need to know because there is a huge difference between 22 months interest free and 3 months interest free.

ive searched all over the web and forums for answers but cant find any solid answers to this specific question, this is also my first ever post on a forum so apologies if i have broken any rules.

  • then please advise, the card has only been applied for, i could always cancel it if needs be.

so a money transfer 0% credit card would be more ideal?
  • they supplied their account details for me to pay into

What exact card is it you have applied for?

It may be that money transfers applied for in the first 3 months will be at 0% for longer than that.

If you have to pay directly into the clinics bank account, then your best option is likely to be a money transfer to your own account and pay the clinic from there. However that means you lose any protection from using a credit card.
  • you need a money transfer card - the clinic as i read form your posts, want a bank transfer/bank deposit as payment. so you can only do this via cash or bank transfer from your account.

in order to do this, you will need funds or cash - so best option is a MT card for the required term you are looking for. there are a few out there with longer 0% months, however you may get one with a fee to is (2-4%)...

I'd be more concerned that they want payment by bank transfer.

    Me too.

It'll be a money transfer, not a purchase.
  • I would avoid a purchase like that
