Blue badge parking fine

Hi I was parked in Newcastle Rvi upon arrival I looked for a space to park and the blue badge spaces were full so I parked in another spot and put my Blue Badge in the screen the car parking machine wasn't working? Now I have received and fine from Parkingeye? I think this is very unfair as I'm disable and couldn't walk to the machine that was working 50 yards away.
Can anyone help me please the car is a mobility vehicle also

Just looked at the rvi site and it does say that blue badge holders only get free parking if in a designated disabled bay.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from a well known scammer for damages for an alleged breach of contract. They think that your actions have so damaged them that they deserve to be compensated to the tune of £100.

Given the circumstances you have described, I think that a judge would be highly unlikely to agree with them. Requiring a disabled person to walk 50/100 yards to pay is, imo, unreasonable, they should have cancelled the charge at the first appeal.

If they were daft enough to take this to court, I would urge you to counter-claim for disability discrimination under the Equality Act 2010.

However, in view of their bad behaviour I think that a complaint to the landowner will do the trick.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future..
