Spark - fake bills from fake account?

Hello guys,
I have a big problem. I’ve never had any problems with bills from energy supliers, every DD paid on time, no problems with anything. Couple months ago I switched from SP to Spark, and everything was fine. But 2 days ago my fiance receive a letter fron Arvato claiming that she didn’t paid bills and she owned nearly 400£ to Spark. First of all, all the time all the bills have been on my name, my cards/bank acc. She never had any contract on her, even phone is payg. Second, she cant speak english and everytime I have to translate everything. Had anyone heard about any similar situations? What to do? I called arvato and spark and they both said that it needs to be paid, even that she never sign anything, no contracts or other documents. Please help

In whose name is the Spark account have you checked .
What have Spark said about it ??

I dont know why its on her name. According to spark this account is on her name not mine, and its signed to our post code. No info when and how it was created

Check your bill account with Spark .

Check your DD with Spark .

So have you been paying Spark by DD.

Odd they have her details but if your not paying then the bill would need paying.

I’ve checked everything with Spark ( all my DD have been payed, no credit on account) and Arvato, it looks like it’s from previous place where we use to live over 2 years ago, but the question is how the hell they got her details? She wasn’t on any contracts and never sign anything. Could the agency that I used to rent this place give them her details? And even that, we’ve been using Scotish Power all the time when we’ve been living there. Spark is obviously terrible and I need to swap from them.

the first question I would ask is :

has your girlfriend ever been with spark at ANY previous address & left without settling the bill ?

How the debt collection agency found out she was living there isnt really the point IMO

Yes the agency will have given the details.
That is the scam that Spark and the agencies used to run. Spark would pay the agencies to give tenants names and sign them up without permission.
But Spark have gone bankrupt now so you are lucky.
