Re-applying for amex card after cancelling card

Options
Hi All,

yesterday I cancelled my amex preferred rewards gold charge card having had it for 6 months.

I have withdrew all membership reward points from my account.

If I want to re-apply for an amex card in the future, how long do I have to wait before I can re-apply and get a sign up bonus.

I have been told this is 6 months, but not necessarily 6 months for British Airways amex cards?

any help appreciated.

  • Generally 6 months for the same card again but yes you can apply for other variants of the Amex card without the wait period

It is 6 months for any card with the same "currency," in this case MR points. You can apply for cards earning other type of points, like Avios, at any time and still be eligible for the bonus.
  • As best I know, it's 6 months after cancelling any card to be eligible for another intro offer for Amex cards
