Although the floor has not been constructed properly, it may survive if the hardcore has been well rammed and a DPM installed. What have Building Control suggested? It would be a fair bit of work to rip up the floor and redo it.0

We are waiting to hear re: building control. Architect and surveyor are saying whole floor will have to come up unless there is a specific reason building control would let it go. But if there is any doubt over the integrity etc who takes liability 10 years down the line? Then the financial aspect of it all, he was paid for what was specified. This isn't the only issue, but it's the main one we aren't prepared to let slide.0

I'm surprised he told you that he was going to leave the concrete slab out, as he must have known that it's an important part of the floor structure.0
