Hi Pinkshoes, just wanted to say that i hope it goes well and is over as quickly as possible.

When i was 19, i had a lump and it was benign but had to be removed. Although its not a nice thing to go through at all it was done quickly and i recovered quickly too.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Just wanted to say I hope it went well.

I found a lump in June last year, but it turned out to be a fibroadenoma. They didn't remove it so now I just have a lump that grows and shrinks occasionally. I'll never forget the moment of panic when I first found it though.

Sounds like breast clinic up here is a bit behind the times. I had to go for a needle biopsy first, and then a week or so later for an ultrasound. Would have been a whole lot less time for worry if they'd just done both together.

Thank you everyone! It all went fine, and the lump was a fibroadenoma (Thanks smeef, saved me having to look up how on earth to spell that!!).

The docs were very nice (female doc and female student), the prodding wasn't too intrusive, and they did an ultrasound too. Was impressed with efficiency of NHS, as it only took a month for the appointment to come through!!

Am feeling much more relaxed about it now.

Thank you again everyone for calming my nerves!! I'm normally such a chilled person, but the prospect of stepping foot in a hospital scares the bejezus out of me!

    PS x
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Hey there :j

I am so pleased everything turned out well - and thanks for taking the time to let us know how things turned out.

Let's hope the next time someone is in the same situation they come across this thread... I know I searched your topic title and I found nothing (that related to younger women) lol so I worried myself a little bit more!

Hope you are off doing something fun and/or relaxing now ;)

Slightly off topic, but can I just say that if men had to have a mammogram on their bits, the procedure would soon be changed to one less uncomfortable & cumbersome!

How I agree with you,I went for routine breast screening 3 weeks ago.I have been before, but I had forgotten how painful it was.I nearly didn't go at all because I have a bit of a phobia about breast cancer and I have spent the last 3 weeks worrying myself to death about the results.

Anyway, the letter came this morning and everything is normal,so I breathed a sigh of relief :j :j

I'm glad everything turned out well for you too, pinkshoes :j
