PCN from the local Council

Good Afternoon All
I received a PCN from the local Council for parking on double yellow lines, but the name of my vehicle was incorrect on the PCN.
I sent an appeal via e-mail advising them of this and asked them to cancel the PCN as I did not think the PCN was enforceable due to the incorrect name of my vehicle.
But they have replied saying they will not cancel he PCN as "the make of the vehicle is only supplementary information and not required".
Does having the incorrect name of vehicle invalidate the PCN? Is the Council's reason not to cancel the PCN, a valid one? Should I pay the fine or challenge the PCN after receiving a notice to owner form?
(Note, if I don't pay the fine and then fail when challenging the notice to owner form, I will have to pay the full £70 instead of the discounted £35).
Please advise on what I should do.
Thanking you in advance for any input anyone gives.
