My car rolled into a parked car with me not present

Ok my girlfriend today has been cleaning my car and she has been cleaning around my handbrake and forgot put it back up proper, she has then gone back inside the house and it's rolled into a other parked car, she has had a knock at the door to tell her that the car has hit a parked car so my girlfriend was asked whos car is it and she told them its mine but I'm at work and told her she is really sorry and she will pay for any damages that has been caused now the women was shouting at my girlfriend and said no im going through insurance but I'm the only one insured on this veichle but wernt there and was not aware of my girlfriend cleaning my car. Will my insurance pay out for her car? or will it be void as i wernt liable?

Speak to the insurers and tell them what has happened, but it will likely go down as a fault accident as it is your car that is at fault.


You could claim from your partner, but your future premiums are going to be high for the next few years

At best, it will go down as a fault claim against you. At worst, they won't pay the claim because your girlfriend is not covered to release the handbrake of your car. Speak to your insurer and see what they say.
