CPM parking fine - didn’t respond to LBC from Gladstone solicitors - help!

Hey guys

So I’ve read a lot of threads and posts on here about CPM cowboys.

My situation is slightly odd as I used to reside in a block of flats, where the parking permits were free but spaces not guaranteed.
In January this year (nearly 11 months ago) I received 2 parking fines from CPM within the space of a few days.

One being as my permit had blown off the dash when taking the baby out of the back, and the other when I’d rectified the permit and it was on show - I can only assume was because there was nothing other than ‘doesn’t comply with the regulations’ the wheel was turned slightly over the line; but the parking is on a roundabout and the entire car body was inside - it’s really odd as numerous people looked at the pic and asked what the problem was as it was inside the line.

Anyway - I responded to both via post (as the cowboys have no phone number or online form, I now think I know why) - with proof of my residents permit and that I had full permission to park in that area (remember that the permits are free - I haven’t avoided paying for parking etc and had relevant proof I was permitted to work there) and both of these letters got zero response.

I then got a further two letters saying that DRP debt recovery are going to take over my case, but the DRP letters say correspondence must be with CPM. I then sent further letters again with proof of postage, to which CPM simply responded saying it’s too late - deal with DRP.

I read online to ignore these threats - so I did just that.

I then got a letter from Gladstone solicitors - and I was under the impression it was another empty threat, and I ignored it and was in the process of purchasing a property and moving in etc, but it’s been on my mind lately so I sat down and did some more research. I’m now seeing that you mustn’t ignore a LBC letter - which is what it in fact is. The 30 days have passed as it was dated 17th September 2018, and when I registered/logged in on the Gladstone solicitors website with my reference there is no outstanding balance or option to respond - I believe this is because I didn’t respond in time.

Do you think I now have any chance in disputing these fines, and will get a CCJ against me?

Or should I just pay the £320 they are asking from me.

They are such crooks!!!

Any help would be appreciated - thanks so much!

    It is not a fine.

You can edit posts by clicking on the edit button underneath your post. You can't do this from a 'phone though, you need to use a full size tablet or PC/laptop.

You can still respond to the LBC now. Most likely you will get a MCOL anyway but you can at least show you engaged the scammers.

You will need to follow the guide to court you will find in post 2 of the NEWBIES which tells you step by step how to proceed.

Get pics of the site asap, and a copy of your former lease/AST if you don't have it already.

Complain to the landowner and the MA as well, and ask them for proof that the scammers can take you to court. They may be jointly liable so you might want to suggest you will need them to show up in court as witnesses.

You might find the information here useful.

Send an SAR to the scammers asking for any and all personal info they have about you including VRN, your agreement with them (which they won't have), images, documentation etcetera from just before the alleged incidents to now.

Ask the DVLA to tell you who, when, and how your personal info was requested, saying you believe this to be free.
Attach a copy of your V5 to both requests.

I assume you told the DVLA about your change of address for both driving licence and V5. Is the stuff from the scammers and solicitors coming to your new address, or is it being redirected. You need to tell both of your current address for service so you don't miss anything.

You did right to ignore DRP

However this brings their fake claim in dispute

As you ignored DRP, THEN IT COST THE PPC NOTHING
"We offer a ‘no collection, no fee service"

Gladstones are trying to extort money by adding the fake £60 from DRP.

The courts do not like companies who extort money and they also know about the incompetent Gladstones
