G24 Parking Charge
Vyft
Hello,
Firstly I want to say - I HAVE read the Newbies thread but I'm still completely unsure of what I'm doing. Honestly - it's so overwhelming and distressing.
The keeper of the car received a letter today through the post for a Contractual Parking Charge Notice issued by G24 (governed by IPC). The letter has a photo of keepers car entering and leaving the car park, with the overstay time of "11 Minutes" - 10 minutes 30 seconds to be exact.
I would appreciate if someone could work through this with me step-by-step. Again, I did read the Newbie thread but I'm at a total loss.
Do I (via their provided website) appeal the charge as the registered keeper using ONLY the template provided in the newbie thread?
Is there any point at this stage trying to add in one of the receipts on the day that the driver has provided me? I'm aware it says carefully but I'll probably mess this up knowing my luck.
I must note that I'm not the keeper or driver of the vehicle but have permission to walk the keeper through this - since the keeper has never done this either/more at a loss than me.
Thank you, and sorry for being such a pain!
Kind regards,
Vyft

same as ALL G24 threads you care to read, they never sue anyone and are easy to push over. Try searching the forum for G24.

Hello,
I did contact several of the retailers on the retail park today but they have all said it is not their responsibility and that I would need to take it up with G24. Probably should have mentioned that in the first post to be honest. That's why I'm even more confused - since I did some digging on G24 and people saying their parking charges were dropped.

If it's a multi-retail site, it's likely the managing agent controlling the site has contracted with G24. So contact them and get them to intervene.
Otherwise, just send the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 initial appeal, then ignore everything after that (other than real court papers - you will be the very first!).
That's about it.
IPC operators rarely drop charges (they earn nowt from dropped charges). Perhaps you can link us to all these 'dropped charges' that G24 have given. Would be most enlightening. That's why I'm even more confused - since I did some digging on G24 and people saying their parking charges were dropped. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
