Are there any regular Skype users that can advise whether it's better to use a headset or a 'Skype phone'.
Where are the best deals for either?

All you need are good speakers and a microphone. I don't use a headset, works fine for me.0

I use a headset - that way I can use the internet at the same time without jamming the phone under my ear.0

I use a headset and it works fine except you have to remember to unplug the headphones so you can hear anyone ringing you when you have taken the headset off. One way to do that is to use a 2 way jack so you can plug in a speaker and headphones.
Also worth getting a mute and speaker volume control on the cable, very handy.
Also I believe that the other person gets a more consistent sound as the microphone stays in the same position no matter where you turn your head.0 -
You could always go bluetooth (headset + adapter)Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

Very stupid Question here but I have an old headset that has two "ends" one red and one beige. Now on the laptop I just have one place to put an "end"
which "end" should it be?
So far I have just used a wand type mic and it works fine if I just lay it down in front of me.
Sorry for the very non-techie descriptions0 -

Same her! Mine had a green end and an orange end, so I got an adaptor and it works fine.
