New build cracking near window frames

In the process of buying a new build saw it a month ago and was fine but yesterday viewed it again and 3 or 4 window sides are cracking slightly. Its by the edge where you'd put the metal edging strips when you plaster.
Seller wants to leave it until Feb 19 for the viewing but I'm not happy. Do you think it maybe a problem or just settlement cracks?

Most likely settlement cracks - surely you got a period tof fix any snagging issues - would probs give it a few months as you may find more.

You're on the wrong board, but you can put up pictures with an obvious gap in the link from the host site. People here will fix them.

You can't upload pictures directly from your computer.

This is really one for 'In My Home,' where all the builders hang out on their fag breaks, but people here go there too, and vice versa.

They will if you don't get answers, but it looks as if you will. Best to let it run now.

Those don't look structural to me; more like shrinkage through bad plastering technique of some kind.

Oops, i might have posted in the wrong section too.

I am experiencing similar issues but mine is not a new build - 14 years old.

To me, those cracks look pretty nasty but i am by no means an expert in such matters.

Will be interested to see hear peoples view on your cracks.

I'm not an expert either, but provided the OP has shown us all there is to see, it seems your issue is completely different and more serious than the OP's.

At 14 years old, yours is not a new build.

OP I run a property maintenance company an come across this quite regularly.

As a new build, this is normal. Your house will settle for a couple of years.

Your builder has a 2 years liability defects period, so during that time, you must go to the builder and ask for these and any other defects to be rectified.

Thanks so they just look like settlement cracks?
