what a lovely day, stayed at work till 6 (unpaid overtime) and finally got the email to potentially ruin my life. I am suposed to be happy that the organisation has got rid of 50+ jobs but hey they've created just over 20 more so what is my problem? Well mine is one of the ones which is gone and i now have to fight with a load more people for potentially 3 other jobs but in reality it's more likely to be 2 other jobs. Sorry for the whine, at least my OH is arriving tomorrow night for a long weekend which is very good news.0

Aaww :grouphug: Lemon Tree, at least you'll have real hugs tomorrow.
Will it be easy to find something else or are you quite a specialised person?0 -
hi floss, quite specialised really, took ages to find this job whilst i was stuck in a job that i dreaded walking through the door for. If my managers are to be beleived then i should be ok but i feel that they have lied to me before when the proposed structure was published and i'm not big on trusting them this time. At least i will know exactly where i stand at the end of Jan. Happy christmas! I'm just so glad OH arrives tomorrow, he's got an interview on friday so i'm keeping everything crossed! i really want him to get a job here now and move down its terrible not being together all the time.
i really must buck my ideas up or i'll end in tears and you'll all disown me!0 -
No we wouldn't disown you.....we'd paddle a bit, but not disown you!
Only thing to do is keep your chin up, keep going in every day, keep doing the job as if you still love it & hope that this is noticed when you have to apply for a new one. And if you get a bit leaky-eyed, don't worry, we'll still talk to you!
BTW, will keep fingers crossed for OH's interview on Friday!

I don't think anything is definite yet Piggin, Sammy was thinking of organising something but I don't know whether she's started thinking of dates/venues yet.
Thanks Snaggles! I would definitely be up for it if it goes ahead - Birmingham is local for me.PigginSkint's debt free diary
