Part exchange with Crest Nicholson

Anybody have experience of doing a part exchange for a new build with Crest Nicholson?

Would love to hear about how much they offered and how it works.

Thanks,

Alex

No experience with CN but completed on a part ex with another developer last week. We accepted 10k under what a previous buyer had offered us (but later pulled out due to their own chain problems), but the process itself was just like any other sale but no chain. Was very easy.

Haven't done it with that builder, but did a part ex with another builder (2003).
It was relly easy and took a lot of stress out of the whole chain business.
We "lost" about £3.5K back in 2003.
I think they bought ours for £129K and sold for £132.50K

It was beneficial in another aspect as well.
Our new build wasn't ready of time (last day of the financial year).
It actually wasn't habitable as the heating for water/house had been mixed up and it was unbearably hot.
This gave us a place to stay when our new build wasn't ready on time.

I did it in 1985. McLean Homes gave me full asking price (£19,950) against a new house that had been reduced to £56,950 because it was one of only two still left on a new estate.

My experience was that the transaction went very smoothly with none of the usual faffing about.

Of course things may have changed in the intervening 33 years. ;)

Did it in the early 90's. Builder was pushing for a quick sale on the showhouse on the developement (their year end was 31st December). Saw the house on the 3rd December after going out for a Sunday lunch. Moved in on the 23rd December. Was a mad panic to achieve but seamless.
