  • If you just have an idea then Renting is much better - you’ll get a good deal and can use the saved. Obey to invest in stock or marketing.

    Opco structures are not necessary for almost all small businesses

    The retailer pays rent on the shop to the owner of the shop. In effect, it comes out of one of your pockets and into the other. Slightly more accounting, twice the limited company responsibilities, but if the opco fails, the propco is unaffected. If the retailer wants to move, or you want to sell the property, the separation is already there. Future-proofing in all ways.
