I went to the hearing today and as Coupon said, no operative turned up - nor did anyone else! The Judge threw out the case and awarded me:
Ordinary costs - £116 (Loss of earnings £95, plus mileage and parking)
Further costs for Claimants unreasonable behaviour - £57 (3hrs litigant in person rate) and £10 stationary
In total £183!
Thank you to Bargepole's (I think) template on costs.
The Judge seemed annoyed Gladstones brought it to court when they had no case (because no proof of their allegation). I had the feeling the Judge (and even the Usher) take a dim view of their antics.
Many thanks to everyone who kindly advised me and gave me the belief I could do this. :T (Special thanks to Coupon - you're a star!). I was tempted at times to pay the money for an easy life but glad I persevered because I've learned a lot about the legal world and its actually been a very interesting process. Shows what we can all do with a bit of back up :beer:0 -
so EPS lost , well done
be nice if you could state the court location and name of the judge too
another one bites the dust0 -
It was heard at Stafford. There was a change of Judge according to the Usher and I didn't notice the new Judge's name. Great experience all round

Hi,
The Judge ordered Euro Parking Services to pay my costs by today but I've had no communication from EPS or Gladstones since the judgment. Is this common? Can anyone advise the best course of action?0 -

We don't play games with monkeys?
Email the incompetent Gladstones giving 7 days to pay.
Thereafter you will instruct county court bailiffs to collect the debt.
Any payment received after the 7 days will be considered as part payment and the balance to be paid to the court bailiffs
PS: If Gladstones cannot afford to pay you, a bailiff will seize goods0 -
Just to say Gladstones eventually payed me last Wednesday about a month after the judgment. Maybe they thought I wouldn't bother following it up or something. Anyway, thanks again for all the advice guys :T0
