Hesford Real Estate - Anyone heard of them?

Hi,
I'm trying to sell a house, and in addition to estate agents, I've set up a Facebook page and paid for some local advertising.

From that, someone from Hesford Real Estate contacted me, and after a couple of email exchanges, they've made an offer.

I'm a bit nervous about this, as I've never heard of them, and they don't have much online presence or reviews.

Is anyone able to advise?

Made an offer for a property they haven't viewed? I wouldn't treat that seriously.

According to Companies House, Hesford Real Estate Ltd is a one-man company incorporated only a few weeks ago.
  • Well it appears the company was only incorporated in September this year.

So no one will have had time to rate it.

Would I touch it with a barge pole? No

  • Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I did look them up on companies house, and the person who contacted me is the director.

Feels like a scam, but I can't see how they scam me?
I know for about £20 I can insure myself against legal fees if they gazunder me at the 11th hour (which is the only scam I can think of)
  • Have they viewed the property?

If not definitely don't touch them.

I've not actually used these "we buy any house" places before - so I wasn't sure if they actually viewed the properties beyond perhaps sending a valuer/surveyor round.

Seems like my spidey-senses are right on this one though, rabbit away.
  • You are right in that what these people do is make you a 'reasonable ' offer then when you have spent money they drop their offer at the last moment.

I'm not sure how insurance would cover this, so the safest thing is to walk away.
