Sizing plasterboard/drywall

I have a big bottle of PVA that I have used to size a new piece of plaster before I wallpapered it.

Can I use PVA on plain plasterboard/drywall prior to wallpapering or does it need to be a primer/sealer. If I can use PVA it will save me buying a tub of sealer.

No. Size the walls with a dilute mix of wallpaper adhesive.
