Bank Charges, Need a Little help please!

Hello! Ok I am helping both my mother and sister with the bank charges. Mother has 500GBP of debt and over 1000£ of bank charges within the past year, sister is paying them back dispite it being somewhat unfair costs.

What can my sister do? She got a letter back from the bank with the standard "case is going on". The problem is she is being forced to pay it back otherwise it increases, so in turn is it right that the banks can charge and yet the customer can't do anything about it. She is on income surrport, they took the money to the degree in which she did not get any income.

Mother is pretty much the same, except in alot more debt. Todays letter states they will be charing 20GBP a day for upto 10x and a stright up fee of 25£, so adding another 250£ in the next month, once again not being able to take them to court due to the current case.

Help in what to do would be great,
Thanks alot,
Daniel.

(Ps I don't know if the Social Security Administration Act 1992 means anything anymore?)
