Gas Usage
Hi
I'm looking for some help. My annual gas usage last year was 8492KWH and this year it has dramatically increased to 20255KWH. I'm with the same supplier (Flow Energy), I have not done anything different I'm quite careful with my usage.
I have identified the statement where it has dramatically increased, but I cant explain why. The previous month statement shows 1861KWH used, then the statement the month after shows 10574KWH then the statement the month after goes back down to 4161KWH
I cant explain how and I'm not sure how I can get this investigated. I have emailed Flow Energy and I'm waiting for a response.
Any advise anyone can share will be gratefully received.
Thanks
Paul

What are the readings on the bills? What letter do they have alongside - A for Actual, E Estimated or C Consumer.
Are these your readings ? If you are not already in the habit of reading your meters at least monthly start now.
Has the meter been changed in the last year ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
As Robin suggests, go through your bills to check which ones are based on estimates and which are on actuall readings.
based on the numbers you've given last years looks too low and this year look to high but averaged out it comes to about 15,000kwh a year which could be about right
If you dont send in actual readings or get estimated bills corrected then you'll get all sorts of anomolies or random numbers. Five minutes once a month to read your meters, send the readings into the supplier and checking your bills.on-line account will save you no end of aggro in the future.
As Robin says in his signature - "never pay an estimated bill" always get them corrected with actual meter readingsNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
