Letting go of EA

Hi Experts,
I rented out a property via EA earlier this year. We paid EA £400+ in fees to find a tenant and agreed on a 10% off rent as management fees.
The tenants have been in property for 6 months and are decent, they have looked after the house and we get on well. There has been one problem with kitchen extractor for which they called me direct and it was fixed within 24 hours.
The EA fees per month is bothering me, the clause states that I need to pay them a full month's rent if I want to move away from them.
When I asked if this is the same even if I do this after the 12 month agreement and they said yes. So as long as the same tenants stay in property, I need to pay a full months rent.
I have accepted and before I let go, is there any downsides of not having an EA?
