                    None of their phone lines are recognised. I tried head office, 8 different branch numbers and their call centre. In every case "the number you have dialled has not been recognised"........

 Strange how you would think that a financial institution has gone belly up just because their online service is undergoing maintenance and you can't get thru on the phone.

 This says that online services are down for scheduled maintenance not that telephone services are going to be unavailable. However to jump from this to insolvency is a bit dramatic.johnhickmanuk wrote: »From their website

            Unusual to carry out planned online maintenance, and have all phone numbers 'not recognised' at the same time though:cool:0

            These days with voice over IP all the data might be carried over the same network.0

            You're (all) right it's a big jump/assumption.
 Just ultra wierd that not just one phone number, but all of them are unrecognised. Geographic numbers (01634), non-geo (0345, 0845), advertised call centre number, Head office, direct branch office numbers........
 and then to see the online banking down too - albeit with an apparantly rational explanation - well remember Northern Rock? That went down without any warning....
 But thanks all. I'll sleep peacefully till Monday and try again!0

            Just been online - all is well. 
 I see that their Easy Access rate is up again. Will have to change over to the new rate at some point.0
