Painted bedroom but walls are feeling rough

First time I've decorated a room top to bottom, so I'm pretty sure I cocked something up.
The bedroom had wallpaper which I decided to strip off and paint the walls, I did the following over the past few days.
1. stripped wallpaper
2. cleaned the wall
3. The wall was already painted so did a coat of dulux primer and undercoat - this worked a treat as it hid all the cracks and little chips. let it dry for 24 hours.
4. Two coats of dulux emulsion
The bedroom looks great, but what I noticed is the walls don't feel smooth compared to the rest of the walls in the living toom and hallways (these rooms were decorated by the previous owner).
I'm trying to understand if I did anything wrong, as the old paint behind the wall paper also felt a bit smoother.
If I did screw up I'll be getting a decorator in to do it proeprly, but it's been a good learning experience for me in DIY.
Thanks in advance.

Was it matte paint? That feels rough.(Nearly) dunroving0

Yeah it was matt paint, I just did a bit of digging and found out the previous owners used silk emulsion.
Is that where I went wrong and used the wrong type? If so could I paint over what I've done or will I need to do another primer and undercoat?0 -
Do the other walls have lining paper on them? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
No, they are painted straight on to the plasterboard.0

You are not preparing the walls properly.
You can't just blag paint on without proper preparation or you get the result that you have got.
You should really have given the walls a light sanding between coats of paint.
Using a fine grade sandpaper & wiping down after sanding.
That way you would have got a nice smooth finish to you paint job.0 -
Ah I see, thanks for that. I’ll leave it all to a decorator in that case!0
