I can see your reasoning for potentially taking a job like that but, if you do, make sure you have an effective exit strategy if your concerns are realised and they expect far more of you than is reasonable or than you can cope with. Would you somewhere to go if the owners simply decided to end the employment for example?0

I would ask for something in writing along the lines of if you increase revenue/profit by x percentage in x months then you get a rise of y
Making them put it in writing will focus their minds to something they actually will do rather than verbal agreements/promises.
It doesn't sound like a very good job but if you have a support system in place if it all goes wrong from either side then whats the harm in trying it.0
