I've not received universal credit email code

All,

I'm trying to set up a Universal Credit account and it says I'll receive a code via email to proceed further.

But I've waited a couple of hours and haven't received anything in my inbox, nor junk mail account.

Just wondered if anyone else had the same issues.

  • What's the code for? To validate your email?

I only did my application 3 months ago but don't recall receiving a code.

The code is sent to validate the email and is only valid for one hour.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

What sometimes appears to happen, is that their IT server has problems and there is a short delay in the emails codes being received.

Hopefully this is just a hiccup and you receive the code.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
  • Mark I am having the same problem, I have put two different email addresses in and they haven’t sent the code or neither has it gone in the junk folder!! What you supposed to do and you can’t contact anyone, it’s just so annoying when we are already going through enough,,,,

While high demand for UC is the main problem.
Another problem to watch out for with missing Emails, Is some ISP spam filters end up blocking some Emails https://help.campaignmonitor.com/how-why-isps-block-emails#spam-filters

  • I keep getting the code to my email address to verify it...and the code doesn't work!!!  I've clicked request a new one and it still doesn't work... tried 6 times now and it just says the code has been blocked and to request a new one.  So frustrating as I'm trying to register so my husband can claim due to self-employed and no work.  ARGHHHHH!!!

Exactly the same problem here, tried on 2 separate laptops with both mine and my wife's email addresses.

  • Hi everyone
im having the same issue, 2 emails attempted now and not 1 verification code has come through for the email address verification. Clearly a system issue as I’m receiving other emails. No other way of claim so this is going to prevent us up until the system is fixed grrrrrr
