Selling a shared ownership flat

We are just entering into selling a shared ownership flat in London and am finding it hard to get concrete information out of the housing association who owns some of it. I'm wondering if I can pick the brains of people who have been through this process or are in the middle of it!
We have been told that they will arrange a market valuation survey from an independent chartered surveyor and that fee will be passed on to us. Does anyone know if we are allowed to shop around for our own chartered surveyor? Also if you have paid this fee, can you give me a ballpark figure of what you paid?
I am quite sure I am going to come back with many more questions but for now thank you for taking the time to read this.

I sold my shared ownership flat in Surrey in Jan 2016, and received a resale pack from Paragon housing association detailing the costs.
The valuation cost £283.20, including a 15% fee to the HA.
I used their surveyors valuation but the FAQ's in the pack did say if I disagreed with the valuation I could appoint my own surveyor, who I would then nominate to the HA, and they would instruct them do to a re-evaluation. I don't know if this would incur another £283.20.
I also had to pay the HA's solicitors costs, but I can't find/remember how much this amounted to!
Hope that helps.
