Retrospective planning consent

Hi.. To cut a long story short - i have undertaken works on my leasehold flat without the freeholders permission (we have a Tyneside Lease - upstairs /downstairs are freeholders of each other)..i'm hopeful that this will be granted but would like to know if the document is required to be drawn up by a solicitor (am sure it is!) and has anyone get an idea of the cost? Further do I need to attend the floor plans to show the changes?? Thanks in advance - Kx

It can be as simple as you sending them a letter saying what you have done (plans can be helpful) and them writing back saying approved (or not).0

And I presume you do just mean freeholders' consent, and not planning consent like it says in the subject line?0

Yes, not planning as just changed access to outside garden from the kitchen to the back of the building instead. This made the kitchen larger.. Also added a rear internal passage way as access to bathroom was through second bedroom. Work was undertaken 10 years ago by a builder that they knew....place is still standing!!!! Xx0
