Who are buying now?

If we read the bearish stories here, everyone should now realize that it is not a good time to buy, prices are soon going downward and we already reached the peak of the market.

Yes, lots of people are still actually buying houses  I spoke with few of them and they are confident that price will never come down

The Estage Agents are still doing good business.
Sellers are not reducing price.
The weekly newspaper's housing supplement still consists same number of pages (so no extra houses:o )
Banks are still lending high multiples of mortgages!

Are we [the so called Money Saving Expert] living in utopia?
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

I have a friend who is buying not one, but three properties - two of which are BTLs.

He is going for prime location flats, and is in the game for the long term... He's not short of a bob or two, and has always made sound investments in the past. I think the prime location is vital.

I got outbid twice last week.

I have noticed that aftera month or so of nothing coming to market and no SSTCs on rightmove, the SSTCs have started creeping back in.

Yes - I noticed that too...

The (unmodernised) flat over the road from me on at 230 (ridiculously overpriced) has finally gone for 207, as has the one next door for 240 (although it has a garden).

It's one of the quieter motorways, so there's some hope I guess. ;)

Thought they were named after the average expected speed (although they obviously over-estimated the M25...).

A: Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo (together as no-one can afford to buy somewhere on their own now)
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

  • I've travelled to Spain before, I was surprised not only by its beautiful scenery but also by its booming real estate. So from then on, I've made up my mind to buy a property in Spain. It is said that Spain's property is very flourishing, more and more foreigners have come to Spain for investing in real estate, such as buying property in spain and costa del sol property are cited examples, they are very suitable for living. Moreover, we don’t have to worry about money, because we can easily get loans from banks. I wish everyone who likes Spain can buy
an ideal house in Spain and live a comfortable life.
