Just preparing my appeal to POPLA and trying to find out what the distance should be from the private parking sign to the car for the sign to be legal , I have looked on the forum and BPA but cannot find it. would appreciate it if anyone can inform me on that also the BPA states that there should be a sign on entrance of the parking informing customers they are entering a private parking area but this sign is on the bend in the road leading into the carpark ,to read it would mean taking your eyes of the road ahead surely this cannot be acceptable. Most of the signs in the carpark are damaged and I have took photos of these although there is one 51feet away from the car but it is placed towards the right of the car and on getting out of the car I would have headed left so really did not see . many thanks

There is no mandatory distances. The whole industry is totally unregulated. Signage needs to be readable and there are guidelines as to the size of lettering.
If the sign isn't immediately obvious point that out to POPLA as they do like the BPA code of practice to be followed.0 -
It is always useful to have your own photos, and quite often you can be as creative as the parking scammers when taking them to show exactly how a driver would miss them.
If a sign can only be seen when the entrance is approached from a particular direction, but cannot be seen when approached from another, then that is the one you show to PoPLA.
I hope you aren't only relying on signage as your only appeal point though.
If this question relates to your other thread, you should ask a board guide to merge the two, and only post on your other thread to avoid confusion.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
