Labour cost of replacing radiator

Want to replace the bathroom radiator with a heated towel rail type. Gas central heating one. Easy to source the cost of radiator, but not so easy to work out approx. price of labour. As the system will need to be drained down I don't have the confidence to do this myself.
Anyone any idea of fair cost for labour?

1 depends where you live
2 type of system
3 are pipes accesable
Why not use a freezing pack and have ago yourself, just freeze the pipes, install isolation valves and repipe0 -
Plumb1 thanks for the reply. Doing myself depends on cost of someone who knows what they're doing. No good saving a few quid in the short term, but finding I have to pay out loads to rectify my mistakes. In answer to questions:
1. Central London
2. Conventianal boiler and hot water tank system.
3. Pipes are accesable, but would need to be extended as Towel radiator will be higher up wall. This is the bit that I don't think I have the skills for.0 -

Hi,
I have had two bathroom chrome look towel radiators done. You should make sure you measure the room to check the size of radiator you need, you can do this on B&Q website, or if you get someone ask them. Our downstairs bathroom needed a regular towel radiator but the upstairs bathroom is slightly bigger and we needed to get the next size up. We put our measurements into the calculator on the b&Q website. You don't necessarily have to have the system drained down, I think it's call capping it off. We have a Worcester combi boiler and I think you have to check the pressure in the system when you have changed a radiator and make sure the radiators are balanced correctly. I live in the North and it cost us £100.00 to have one done. It doesn't take long, maybe 1 hour or so if they are changing pipework.0 -

Job is done now. I paid £90 for labour (Including two valves and short bit of pipe). Job took 3 hours, but alot of that was waiting for system to re-fill, drinking tea and chatting.
Having seen the job done I would now be prepared to have a go myself, useing the freezing method rather than draining system, but as we only have one bathroom I probably won't have to back that statement up!0 -
glad you got it sorted, hope your bathroom is nice and toasty now ;D0

plumbers charge £200 to £250 per day and I cant believe it would take more than 1 day."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0
