Natwest Debit Card Replacement

Hi,

Has anyone waited longer than a week for a Natwest Debit Card replacement to be delivered to a bank. I had a fraudulent activity on my debit card, which Natwest declined. I confirmed that I hadn't authorised it and they said that they would have to cancel it and send me another one. I am currently working away so I asked them to send it to the local branch where I'm working. I received a text saying the card would be delivered between 3-5 working days. It has now been 8 days and no sign of the card. The customer helpdesk said that it was dispatched last Fri 26th and should be at the branch by now. I've visited the branch twice now and they reckon it's more likely to be 7-10 as it takes longer to send it to a branch. This is now causing me serious issues as I have lots of payments including my hire car that are linked to the card. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I cannot comment on the card delivery time scale, but I would not worry about your payments linked to the old card. Even though your card was cancelled and the new card has a new number, the payments would still go through, as bank would still link them using the old card number. That is the nature of CPA.

Thank you for the quick reply. I've resorted to speaking to them via Twitter. Unfortunately my car is hired on a monthly basis with a new agreement each time, so I'm not sure that a cpa will cover it but i will find out tomorrow.

If there are any payments that won't be taken by a CPA then you can just do a single payment through online banking to cover you until the new card does arrive.
