Coolant leak - repair or trade in?

I could trade in and buy another used car but I am scared about getting conned again. The dealer obviously knew the car had this problem and ripped me off.

A friend has advised K - seal which I may well try. Or maybe go back to the sealant but I am wary of this as I am throwing my money away.

What would you do?

On that basis - the quote of £300 from the first garage looks like its reasonable, get it repaired there.

How much is coming out? K-Seal can repair minor leaks; I have used it and seems to have resolved a slight head gasket leak. BUT don't just pour it in the header tank as that will do diddly squat. You need to drain off some rad fluid; pour it directly into the radiator or top hose; then run up to full temperature immediately.
