Although I suggested you post on that forum I was rather hoping you'd give the guy time to respond to your email you were sending. Now you have jumped the gun a bit and no doubt put his back up in the process. Did you not read the bit I posted about sending him a pm on the forum and then posting IF he failed to respond to your email.

Also, please don't copy posts from members here and post them as your own on another forum.
Neil - ah i see what you mean - sorry but think i misunderstood. hadnt had a reply by this evening hence posted on forum after i sent him a pm via the forum - guess he has a few mates on the forum hence curt response in his defence.

You now need to make it clear that although you appreciate that he's probably trying to resolve the issues with the courier at the end of the day that's between him and them. Your refund should not be dependent on this outcome.

Hi Neil - the forum posting has prompted a response from the seller. As you rightly indicated - 'its got his back up'. I guess I will await his response to my request for reimbursement.

    sellers reply is below -

    ..........................................................
Firstly I have replied to this in " open forum " not for your benefit xxxxx but for the members of the forum that know me and have expressed their sincerity here and for that I thank you all.

As for posting this publicly here xxxxx, it shows your intention to put a black mark against my good name and reputation.

You have stated the facts with your tint upon it and I won't go into detail here as it is not, as others have pointed out, the correct platform to do so.

But to show my honesty and that I acted with good faith even though I didn't want to send via courier and this was your request even to the point of telling me who to use. I post this...

    It clearly states - collected.

Now for the record I was going to sell this item on Ebay with collection only, when I answered to the question has anyone a spare wheel and though you were at Barnsley you didn't want to drive the extra bit to York to pickup the wheel. Anyway I am not going into this further on this forum, needles to say anyone who knows me probably knows where I work, and believe me I brought this matter straight to the correct authority, I was livid that this item had gone missing and thus reported it as a theft, along with making a claim against the postal company who you said to use, which incidentally don't even have a telephone number and all correspondence is via email.

As for not responding.... I am not chained to my computer and also work some interesting shifts.

And for the no response people - the message for a refund was sent only today !

For those who do know me and can vouch for my integrity, I say THANK YOU and for everyone else, I assure you all -

    I am no charlatan .

I re-iterate it is in very bad taste David to post this on here, which in my opinion has been done for one sole purpose and that is to darken my name and embarrass me publicly. I suggest if you need to contact me, do so as you have done in the past and that is by email and politely await my response, please don't continue this on here.

OP - you never told us that it was you who told the seller which courier to use!!!

If that particular courier does not offer compensation up to the cost of the item then I think it's unfair for you to expect the seller to give you a full refund.

hi - a lot was discussed on the phone with the seller on 12/9/18.

What he says is not entirely accurate. I live in Bolton and he in York. He said he travelled to Bolton to buy fish food (Koi carp?) and could drop off next time he was in the area. I was agreeable to this but he said as he was going on holiday in a few days time for a couple of weeks it would be 3 or so weeks before he could get to Bolton again. He said I could pick up from another address he was travelling to north of York but that was a considerable distance away from me.

We discussed using a courier. He suggested Parcelmonkey but for some reason he couldnt book it when he tried to online. I suggested P2G as used previously without incident. I said there were many quotes of which Yodel was the lowest price.

We agreed the price of £xxx to include cost of courier. I offered to book the courier if he returned some money back to me. He declined and said he would do it himself provided it was less than £20. He went away and booked it online and I then received confirmation from P2G later that evening.

The courier (Yodel) collected from his home and thus began the problems.

So you had clearly checked the price of quotes online too as you knew Yodel were the cheapest. Did you look at the levels of compensation on offer from each of the couriers or just go for the cheapest courier overall.

Neil - I need your help please as got the attached from the seller via the forum. His version is not entirely accurate. Im in a pickle as he talks about defamation / libel etc.

    .......................................................................................

First off - it wasn't my courier it was yours - chosen by you and directed to me by you.

I even said I would deliver to your house, that's how far I was willing to go to make sure you had the wheel, you wouldn't even drive to mine from Barnsley. You even said don't insure the wheel it will be ok, and you spent a considerable amount of time finding a courier and guiding me through the online fiasco in which P2g are. I have done all I can to get action from them as you know and it's like hitting your head against a brick wall, and this is who you said use. I asked you to sort out the postage but you persuaded me to do it from my end, I pointed out that it was being sent at your own risk if not opting for insurance, but you still agreed and that is why I sent it.

I shall now be seeking my own council on this matter and also the fact that you have tried to publicly embarrass me and taint my reputation, defamation of character I think it is called some call it libel.

Sorry, your on your own with this. I suggested you give him time to respond to your email but you went ahead and posted what you did anyway. As for the libel accusation, well it can only be libel if the statements you made are false. If what you've posted is true then you have nothing to worry about.

You really should've been up front with us and gave us the full details regarding the courier when you asked for advice. If it's true that you agreed to it being sent without insurance and were made aware of the risk then that throws a different light on the situation somewhat.

he was having problems with P2G online. to show him it was working he gave me his address, weight / dimensions and i entered my address and up popped some quotes. I just said Yodel was cheapest carrier - their quote was with and without insurance. I didnt look any further into this. the seller was free to choose another carrier if he wished and check what the cover was.

Neil I honestly didnt think it mattered. The sellers version of events differs from my own as i said above to ms chocaholic. I didnt agree anything with the seller - I suggested P2G and advised the cheapest was Yodel. I didnt force him - it was his choice to use P2G anf Yodel as courier. I do not know if took up extra insurance or not.

By the way of limiting damage i emailed the seller via the forum as below, aloso edited out his name on my postings:

Thank you xxxx for your reply.

Your memory of events differs somewhat from mine but as you say - this not the time or place for going into that. I have been very frustrated with this whole situation just as much as you and I have spent much wasted time with P2G and Yodel. For me its more personal as I have nothing to show for the £xxx I paid and can ill afford paying again for a wheel.

Im very sorry that you feel that you have been offended or slighted - that was never my intention - I even said in Mondays email that I considered you to be a decent person.

The only reason I came back to this forum was to contact you - this is where we met up. After Mondays exchange of emails I truly believed that I was being left out to dry (I'm sorry but no one seems to be doing anything and someone has got themselves a RCZ wheel and tyre at your expense. I can't think of anything else I can do, sorry) - and again yesterday with no response to yesterdays email seeking reimbursement. When ive contacted you previously you more or less responded immediately to my text / email.

You obviously have many friends on this forum and are held in esteem by them as they referenced this. In my replies I havent said anything to undermine you, publically embarass or taint your reputation - all I stated was an opinion - it felt as if I was being ignored or frozen out. Once again I apologize that it has interpreted otherwise.

In the meantime I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

    D
