I am going to the Metropolitan University in Sept to do a City and Guilds Upholstery. Can anyone advise me on getting any kind of funding or low rate student loan, as a last resort. The course is 1 year.

Hi there,
I can't really advise you because I too, am in the same predicament. In my case, it's an Arts degree course (3 yrs) at my local uni that I am in the process of applying for, starting this Sept.) I've just found out today that I will have to find a way to pay for most of the tuition fee. (As I am a full time carer, I cannot work at the present time but could manage small incremental payments)
If anyone out there can help both of us out as to where we "mature students" (yuck) can go to get any kind of financial support or help it would be most appreciated.
Thanks.0 -
Hey PCbod,
I was searching around for info on financial help for mature students and came across this (it'll give you a laugh) :

(scroll down to the 'mature students' bit on lower half of page)
Not much use at the mo' but it could get interesting.....
I'd better practice my 'cyber juggling act.'0 -
Found another (more helpful) link. The whole page is full of useful info. Even though the page is for Portsmouth Uni students, I think it might apply to all universities in England. Anyway, it's worth looking into....

I'll post if I find anymore. Good luck to you! (and me)0
