Pcn

Options
Hi All - Newbie here. Have read the Newbie posts but wondering if my situation is slightly different as I have been sent a postal pcn for £60 which states I was parked somewhere on oct 24th that I simply wasn't.
It says I was in Colchester when I was actually in Norfolk!
I can't figure out how on their website, I can request photographic evidence without ending up on the payment page! I wanted to see the picture to see if its actually my car or just a car with my Reg.

Should I just request via an appeal using the wording laid out in the Newbie threads? Or call them etc?
I don't like the simply ignore route tbh.

Many thanks

You can certainly see photos without paying if it's a firm like UKPC or Parking Eye, they make photos available to see.

    Which parking firm?

You simply need to be very robust about telling them they have made a mistake with the VRN and this is not your car and you demand all photos taken, including the raw images before they were cleaned up.

You should find an email addy for their Data Protection Officer to raise this data concern formally. It will be on their PRIVACY page (or a postal address but email is best).

If you get knocked back, complain IMMEDIATELY to the DVLA & their Trade Body (IPC or BPA) and the Information Commissioner online.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Ps - the charge has been sent by Parkingcsl.co.uk which I believe may be a debt collection service based on reading in here.

    cheers

  • Ah - Not sure which parking firm. Am away from home and the Mrs has the info - will check tomorrow.
Is it the firm I should contact?

Yes of course, their DPO, as per their privacy page - like I said.

    no it doesnt

it says that the vehicle with VRM AB12CDE was parked in that location

whereas you are saying the same vehicle was in a different location

they dont monitor where human beings physically are !!! think about it

there is no "I" , just "my vehicle"
  • Ok - get that its the vehicle not person but I still wonder how that mistake can be made? The vehicle was not in the location stated.
The notice also states - Land managed by the creditor ANPR parking service ltd.

they make simple mistakes every minute of every hour, these people are morons and tend to write mistakes in order to enrage the recipient into making stupid admissions about who was driving

    wrong make
    wrong colour
    wrong name

    wrong location

a myriad of reasons to inflame the situation and make a recipient see red, contact them and drop themselves in it

there is no regulation, no due diligence, just morons motivated by greed

in this case ANPR passing on silly info to their debt collectors

    ANPR are BPA members

so send the blue text template, appealing as KEEPER (no blabbing about who drives the vehicle) to the appeal method shown on the pcn

no alterations to that blue text template

They misread the VRN, happens all the time. Lots of threads like this exist where people think their car was cloned. Maybe it was, but more likely PPC scam negligence.
