enforcing a CCJ against halfords

Options
Hi,
Long story short, I made a 'small claim' using the money claim online service, against my local Halfords autocentre for some bad mechanical work.
Halfords did not respond to the claim in the given time frame and I therefore requested a CCJ.

This was awarded through a 'judgment in default.' Since receiving this letter I have still heard nothing from Halfords and now their 30 days have passed.

Can anybody advise how I might go about enforcing the CCJ? I feel as though they don't particularly care that there will be a CCJ against them, despite being a very large company.
The claim is for £1200 including costs and interest.

Thank you!

Transfer the judgement to the High Court and then get the sheriffs in.

Why would they? Many people don't bother to enforce or they may have no assets to seize. The tools may well belong to the mechanics who work their so little to no assets to lift.

Perhaps they are unaware of the case? So many large companies are disorganised when it comes to this sort of thing

The hand tools in the workshop might belong to individual mechanics but the larger stuff won't, nor will the computers etc. There will be plenty for the sheriffs to list and if necessary seize. In practice with this sort of company it won't get that far, once they turn up a payment will be organised within a few minutes!

Sorry wrong "their". I don't know why I did that. I will put my dunces cap on and sit in the corner.

That is provided the wearing of a dunces cap has been properly risk assessed.

As others have said though transfer up to the High Court. The fees get added to their bill.

Please note the correct "their" this time.
