Hello, does anyone own a Dri Buddi?
What are your thoughts on it?

  • Love it! Bought an original Dri Buddi several years ago and have since bought the new version. Dries clothes for a fraction of the cost of a tumble drier. Also heats the room it's in. We put clothes on hangers and find it cuts down on ironing. Just remember to have some ventilation, we have the window slightly open to avoid condensation.
    Wouldn't be without it.

Lifesaver if you don't have a tumble. I'm in a rented flat and its excellent particularly in winter months when its difficult to get clothes dry. Put everything on hangers and can hang it up straight away once dry - perfect for my non-iron shirts for work. Had it for 5 years now and still going strong. Excellent value for money.

I'm on my second dri buddi. The first one lasted for years with no problem. It just worked. About a year ago it gave up the ghost so I replaced it from one from argos, coem home, put it together and all was well. We collapsed it down recently and put away whilst decorating. When I went to put it up I found the locking spring clip that holds the spider canopy up as fallen out, as that is held in place purely with the spring tension there is no way I'm going to get that down the pole exactly aligned for it to pop though the hole - the only fix is to put the canopy up and put a bolt in the hole. Both the top of the lower pole and bottom of the upper pole are threaded using a threaded collar to connect them. No real problem unless you unwittingly unscrew both. On this one the finish on the thread is so bad it has partially stripped the thread on the pole itself when trying to reattach, dispute trying to clear the shards of aluminium there is no thread as such to refasten the collar to so its on at a wonky cross-thredded way. The Chinese have really excelled them self with the quality. The early model did seemed to be great, no problems with taking it down and putting it up but this later model has a typical cheap quality, saving 1/10th of a penny per unit results in poor quality. I would not recommend based on the quality between when they first came out and today's model.
