Cistern to pan connection
Greatjob
Am just replacing a Fluidmaster siphon with a new one as the old had stopped working. The close coupled cistern has a 2 1/2 inch hole in the bottom but the gaskets/washers supplied with the Fluidmaster only fit 2 in or 2 1/4 in holes.
Years ago when I fitted the previous one I ended up doing a bodge job (unusual for me) using horse hair and plumbers putty. After a few attempts resulting in a very wet bathroom floor it did work but this time I want to do it properly.
Any suggestions as to what to use or how to do it properly would be gratefully received.

Can you not buy some larger washers from the likes of B&Q or similar.0

Changing your toilet so it takes a 2" siphon would be the most sensible option. Although this sounds like a big job, I can't see that there is any other option to do the job properly. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Plumbers Mait might do the trick if you make some big doughnuts of it.0

Why not just get the correct part for the job? If the fluidmaster doesn't fit why on earth would you buy it?0

I've never seen a normal cistern that the washers won't fit, are you sure the pan & cistern weren't originally syphonic ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
