Scottish Power - HELP!
Over the last year I have had so much trouble with Scottish Power including:
1. Hours wasted on the phone with no resolution to problems
2. They fitted a PAYG meter instead of a credit meter
3. They fitted the meter to a post which they stood adjacent to the building instead of attaching it to the wall
3. Registered me as a business customer instead of residential
4. Took 6 months to amend my address to rest on the national data base
5. Inadequately handled 3 customer complaints which I have raised
NOW, finally they (Providor - their sub-contractor) came and replaced the PAYG meter with a credit meter but left it on the post lying down on the ground on the edge of the drive without attaching it to the wall and with around 3m of excess cable. It is open to the elements and definitely a trip hazard, as well as being unsightly. They are now refusing to come and rectify the situation unless I pay for an electrician to come out and certify it as being unsafe, then and only then will they even "consider" remedial action. I am at my wits end with this company and any advice on how to escalate things would be welcome. They are totally incompetent when it comes to customer service and it would appear, technical skills.

I am tempted to say ‘take photographs and send them in to a National newspaper’: CEOs of most companies do not like to see their company’s failures highlighted in the Press. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
