Scam warning - peoples postcode lottery

Hi, I received the below email this morning, but it wasn't to my subscribed email for Peoples Postcode Lottery and warning bells immediately started ringing when it asks for photo of you and ID. I did ring Peoples Postcode Lottery and they confirmed it is a SCAM and they are aware of it and investigating. Thought I'd post as I don't want anyone to fall for it.

Pretty sure this has been mentioned recently. The People's Postcode Lottery, in my experience, either credit your bank account directly (if you have a direct debit paying for the tickets) or ask for your bank details if you don't, and again pay directly into your account. I've never received a cheque from them, nor been required to send driving licence or SELFIE!! (who do they think they are kidding!)

The requirement for winners of larger prizes to provide copies of passport or driving licence and a utility bill is on their website but they do not require a selfie.
  • When I spoke to them they said they would pay into your bank account as have details from DD and if it was a big win they would call.
