Child tax credits and Managed Migration to UC

I am currently in receipt of Child Tax Credits, and am given to understand that as of July 2019 I will be invited to apply for Universal Credit. (Managed Migration I believe it is referred to)
I am unlikely to be eligible for Universal Credit due to having some savings, do any of you knowledgeable folk on here know whether the Transitional Protection granted to successful U C
applicants will also apply to those not eligible for U C.
Or will it be a cliff edge type transition?
Just trying to prepare.
Thanks in advance:think:

'Migration' of existing claimants to UC is due to start in July 2019 but is not likely to be completed until 2024. Transitional protection is still being finalised but I'm pretty sure that it has been indicated that for those currently on Tax Credits capital above £16,000 will be ignored for 12 months. This does mean that for someone with substantial savings they would only get UC for 12 months. However nothing is yet finalised.

    This is quite useful

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
