Morning all,
Still clear and frosty here,I was cold in bed last night.I was at the park early with poochy,it was beautiful.
DH put the new dining chairs together last night, makes this end look bigger as they tuck under the table better and the new bar stools tuck in further too :jHe's got a new skip at work so the packaging can go in the bottom and 2 of the old chairs ( 2 have gone in the loft for Xmas extra seats and DS wants the old stools so theyre up there too ) so it looks a lot tidier down here. I did get some fabric down while the ladder was down,I have a fancy to make a fusion quilt- fabric patches joined by crochet, spent ages yesterday looking on pinterest
Snoozer,as you can see,our loft load is increasing not diminishing .Hope the consultant visit goes well xx
DGS has gone to school dressed as a dinosaur skeleton, he'll be here later and DS is taking him to a mates to trick or treat as there are hardly any kids round here. His mate needs cheering up a bit,he found out he was being made redundant on Monday
and they've just sold their house and been accepted on a new one so he might have to back out of the sale now.
Dumpling hope you get your legs sorted soon, sounds so painful.
Speky-glad your plans are coming together and to hear Gran is doing much better.
Welcome Boswood
SR,enjoy your lunch at the garden centre.
Meanmarie enjoy your trip
Hope youre ok Poppy x
Hope you all have good days x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hello all
We are having a strange day. We decided to go to the Wh*t shop for some sweeties for Halloween and on to B*M. Then Mr Fix It couldn't find his wallet and he swore he'd put it in his pocket . Panic stations as it wasn't in the car either. We got home and it wasn't where he normally leaves it, but phew, it was hiding in plain site on the welsh dresser . Then he told me it was lunchtime, it wasn't ...... it was only 11.30 not 12.30 ! It's a bit of a worry as I don't know what's wrong with him today, he was complaining of a headache earlier and he's all at 6's and 7's. He's now cwtched up asleep in his chair. Fingers crossed it's nothing untoward.
I have done a wash but I shall dry it indoors as the sun has gone in and it looks very grey and watery. This afternoon I will empty the DW and get the Halloween decorations out. The DGC are not coming today for a party but they are coming tomorrow for a sleepover, as DD and SiL want to go to the city for a meal and then on to the cinema. We will have our party tomorrow, DGC are wearing their Halloween costumes again, so we will have some games etc. I may decorate the house ( inside only ) tonight.
The fire is on in the lounge but I will put the heating on in a minute, as it's getting colder and colder and the sky is getting darker and darker. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a bit of snow this afternoon .
Dumpling I hope you have sorted your leg problem out, if not.......PLEASE DO IT a.s.a.p ! Sending you a gentle hug anyway.
Bozwood welcome to the asylum :rotfl:. I look forward to getting to know you.
TA lovely to see you posting. I know your life will be difficult/ strange for a while, but take your time, baby steps my friend, baby steps. xx
Hope everyone has a good(ish) Wednesday. Take care and hugs to anyone who wants or needs one, or more as the hug bucket is brimming.

Afternoon folks - busy start to my day as my class was a 9.00a.m. I was on the laptop at home loading up documents to the online system by 8.00a.m. and then out the door.
My friend is running late...story of his life! I've brought in more logs, filled up the bird feeders and vacuumed out the woodburner (leaving a small layer of ash). I'll set a fire ready to light later and will also put a beef korma on to cook.SpekySquarehead wrote: »sailing.
Snoozer , my gran is almost back to full fitness, thank you. I think her confidence has taken a knock and she is thinking of giving up her car which is a huge part of her independence. She's now back in her own house, so it's just about recuperating at her own pace
My DM gave up her car in March this year afer her confidence was knocked too. She only drove very short distances, got worried about her reflexes but was so upset about losing her indepence. She HAS got the independece to call a taxi so all is not lost.:rotfl:
Right - must do some stuff now. Welcome to Bozwood, hope you're happy here.
Happy rest of Wednesday.0 -
Good afternoon everyone, late today as I gave a friend who's going overseas a lift to the train station, then did a couple of errands in town. Welcome, Bozwood, it's good to see you here.
My aunt stopped driving at 84, when her car had come to the end of its useful life. She uses a mix of buses, taxis and lifts now, and gets heavier groceries delivered. She says she doesn't miss the bills and the responsibility.
First swim since before the lurgy later on. I'm waiting for the Instant Pot to depressurise, then I'll have a late soup lunch.
Hoping your day's going as well as possible. xxx0 -
Good afternoon chums and welcome Bozwood ,we are all quite matey here and look out for each other although we may live miles apart.
Nelski jersey Boys is brilliant isn't it ? my eldest DD took me to see it two years ago in London and she is quite a straight-laced sort of person and she too was up jigging around as the music is really great took me back a few years as well
Glad you DMs OK Gers and you Gran's coming along Speky.
I have had a strange sort of day today. Eldest DD has brought me a new Iphone for NYC as a present and I wanted to change my service as my contract expires next month. DGS Henry needed new footie boots so I have treated him to them as an early Christmas present He takes size 12 !!so they weren't cheap but he is thrilled with them
We came out of the shop and I said we'll go into EE's shop as we were in Chatham and see what sort of deal they would offer for sim only.
Well the deal was only a pound less than what I was paying now, and not very good at all.
So we then went to the Virgin shop and was offered a better deal and I said I would come home and think about it
Came home phoned EE and said I wanted the PAC code and the chap was quite put out that I may leave after 16 years as a customer So offered my a very good deal of unlimited calls and texts plus 6GB of data for over £8,00+ per month less than what I am paying now so now I only pay £10.00 for all the extras and just have to change the sim from my old Iphone 5S to my new Iphone 7 I feel really pleased at the deal and the amount I have saved just for the sake of a phone call Happy days
My DGS Henry is very impressed with his old Granny as wellI think I have got 'street cred ' in his eyes now
:)
I also treated him to lunch in a greasy spoon in Chatham that he loves Its really spotlessly clean and the food for two of us plus a drink came to only £7.00 which was even nicer He doesn't get to eat out often and to have his Gran's undivided attention for a couple of hours was for us both a nice treat .Whe you are third of four lads you tend to get lost sometimes in the scrum .
DGS Ben is happy doing his one-to-one agency teaching work with his little deaf lad at the primary school so he is a happy chappy at the moment
DGS Jack at Uni is aso a happy lad as I have said he can have my old Iphone to replace his mobile which is on its last legs
and the youngest DGS Mikey is also happy as I helped him sort his costume out and mask for his pals Halloween party tonight His friends Mum is from argentina and she apparently pushes the boat out for the boys spooky party tonight.
I am down to the last 6 baby balls to knit which is good as I am beginning to see swirly balls in front of my eyes
I am off to see the Bohemian Rhapsody film and lunch with DGD Holly tomorrow and she is treating me to lunch which will be nice She is on her second week of half term from school at the moment and said she has done all the lesson prep for her class of 6 year olds for next week so want a complete break from thinking about work.
Weather is bright and sunny here in Kent and around 14c so not too bad at all.
tonight's dinner is defrosting in the fridge I found a nice breaded chicken quarter in the freezer and I rather fancy that with a big salad.
Hope you are taking one day at a time Mrs TA and eating properly.
Dumpling, Drs asap missus, we are all here to nag you if you don't
Take care everyone as we are all precious to someone

Good evening everyone :hello:
I've spoken to my GP and he is coming to see me tomorrow so thanks for all the concern, I hope it will be ok.
I have had a fairly busy day with visits from the OT and the architect to discuss the changes needed to put in a wet room and best of all my lovely friend came to see me this afternoon and she is so much better now. We didn't spend much time together but it was so good to see her looking well again.
I am going to make a sausage and mushroom pasta dish for me and Steve, the kids are having chicken kiev and chips. I will make a roast beef dinner tomorrow as we missed out on our roast on Sunday because of the Halloween party. Yum, can't wait for that. I have cheated though and bought yorkshire puddings as I just can't make them.
I haven't been knitting for a couple of days but will pick up the needles again this evening and finish off the sailor doll I am making. I want to make a Father Christmas next and then I have a request for a pink puppy so that will be fun.
Welcome to Bozwood, everyone is lovely on here as you will see xx
Right I am off to make dinner with an ear open for small vampires and witches knocking on my door. Hope you have a lovely evening whatever you are doing, take care xx0 -
Wee Midgie, how do you rate the Instant Pot? I've read a lot about it.
Dumpling, glad you've called the doctor to look at you legs.0 -
Change of plan for dinner tonight two of the boys were going out and I had already come home, and DD rang to say if you haven't started dinner come to ours as my son-in-law had bought a larger chicken so there was lots going spare so I turned around and went back to their house, luckily we live in the same village :)So my breaded chicken will do tomorrow night instead:) No wonder my freezer takes so long to empty,Tonight was my third night I have been out since the weekend
tomorrow I am going out to lunch with DGD and then to the cinema. Golly its sometime tough being retired and finding time to keep everyone happy
:) I am now home and going to put my feet up and watch the new detective series at 9.00 as it got a good review on Front row last night on R4
Cheers chums
JackieO xx0
