Washing Machine Filter

I have just spent an exhausting hour dealing with a flooded kitchen.

I had a warning error message that the filter was blocked. I regularly use white vinegar and/or soda crystals to clean my washing machine, and always a cup of soda crystals with every wash.

Now this does an excellent job of keeping the machine clean and odour free - but I never gave a thought to where all the limescale went that my careful cleaning/washing regime removed from the drum and the pipes. The answer of course is in the removable filter!

It was absolutely chock a block with pieces of limescale. (I do live in an area of particularly hard water). There's a reason why it's removable - it's meant to be removed and checked regularly!:(

  • I am afraid with hoovers, washing machines and tumble dryers there always seems to be a filter or fan that debris collects in that you don't know about. Until you get an expensive repair and make darned sure you know where the things that can get clogged up are, every time you buy some cleaning thing.
