A couple of weeks ago i heard a loud noise in my garden and when i looked out i saw a huge husky dog digging furiously under my garden fence causing the whole fence panel break. i banged on the window and the dog simply looked round and stopped. it then went on to poo in my garden and bashed a hole in another panel which it then walked through into the garden next door.i managed to get photos of it. A neighbour told me it was the dog from down the road.
My husband went and knocked on their door. the owner saw the photos and said it was her dog. she apologised and said that when they go to work in the day they leave the dog in the garden. she said the dog is always digging things up so must have escaped from the garden and gone all the way along the neighbouring gardens to get to ours. my husband said he wanted her to pay for our damaged fence, to which she said she would and would drop money round. a week on and she still hasnt.
im not and expert on dogs but have been told by friends that this breed of dog can be temperamental and vicious so i havent wanted to go out into the garden, ive also told my neighbours next door as they often have their young children playing out in their garden.
Where do i stand with pursuing this?

Well what is the real issue here? Is it thta they haven't paid for the damage yet and you are looking for a way to punish them by calling their dog anti social and dangerous?
Go back and ask her to lay up and make sure her own grounds are secure and you and your neighbours won't need to worry.job done.
Don't go round calling the dog this, thta and the other or you will antagonise her and she'll dig her heels in.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
i would like to be paid for my fence is the obvious main issue. I would also like reassurance that this dog will be kept securely within a safe boundary.
Im not out to claim a dog is dangerous, poorly cared for etc or indeed to fall out with anyone.
What i want to know if if they refuse to pay up then what options i have.
I have read online and it does appear that there are laws in place for dog owners to abide by.0 -
If she does not pay up you would have to take her to court to claim the money.0

You could always contact the local dog warden who would go round and have a word with the dog's owner about keeping him/her secure in his/hers own garden.0
