There’s all sorts of time frames given here by different people. We have just exchanged on our first time buy and are completing on the 25th. From first viewing (offer made a couple days later) to completion has taken us 7 weeks. I suppose it all depends on the vendor.0

Update: it's finally happening guys! All queries are now resolved, we have paid the monies to our solicitor and the exchange is happening tomorrow. We are completing and picking up the keys on March 1st (as we are away for a week between 22nd-28th Feb and don't want the responsibility of ''having two'' properties since we are still renting at the moment). The house has been vacant for couple of weeks now so we are very much looking forward to moving in about 10 days!
Happy times! Thanks for all of your help, it does feel like the process took ages (6 months to be precise, our mortgage offer expires on 6th March) but it was all worth it in the end. Every house purchase is different!0
