NTC Parking Ticket

Hi Guys

I have read a few of the sticky's and posts relating to this matter however I would like complete clarity.

The driver at the time received a parking ticket from NTC (Norwich Traffic Control) on the dash for parking in a space that is "designated" to another company. To keep my privacy intact I will not name company names however I work for a company that shares land with other companies. Previously the parking spaces used to be numbered, now due to time, age, weather ect this numbers are no longer there. It is always constantly changing who can park in which number bay anyway.

As I said, having read the sticky's and previous posts am I right to ignore this. As the registered keeper do I appeal? I did read a sticky where it said to wait until day 19 and day 26.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The advice to ignore has not been given on this site since the law changed in 2012.

Edit your post to remove any implication of the driver's identity. What you have posted is ambiguous and "could" be interpreted as having revealed who was driving.

Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people. ;)

For a windscreen ticket from a BPA member, send the template from the NEWBIES around day 26.
For a windscreen ticket from an IPC member, wait for the NTK then appeal when it arrives.

This assumes that this is not a lease/hire car, and the alleged event occurred in England or Wales.

  • Hi Fruitcake, thanks for your response.

After some googling I can see they are an IPC Member. Is there a template ready for when the NTK comes through? Or is this something you'd need to write on a case by cases basis?

The template for the initial appeal is the same for BPA and IPC members. The only difference is the advice on when to send it, and what to do if/when it is rejected.
The NEWBIES is not a quick read.

Have you complained to the landowner yet?

Please also complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

  • Thanks Fruitcake. I will have a read of the thread in due course. You’re right, it’s certainly not a quick read!

Would I be right in saying that by contacting the land owner, he/she can ask for the ticket to be revoked?

Essentially what the issue is, is that the company who’s parking space it is ‘designated’ for would have called NTC rather than come to my company and ask for it to be removed. There has been issues in the past where people have refused to move/continually parked in ‘their’ space hence we don’t get the nice approach anymore.

Wait for the NTK. I would not make any communication with anyone yet, in case a NTK never arrives.

See the other thread about NTC here:

Let's hope the wheels are coming off and they can't get DVLA data at the mo, or something.
