Email box hacked?

I recently received an email that says my mail box was hacked more than 6 months ago.

Has anyone else received a similar email or know anything about these type of emails? I don't know if its an attempt to make me think they hacked or if they did.

I've added a screenshot of the email. The sender email address of the email shows my email address.

That is the new breed of so-called Scareware. There's only one thing to do with it - delete it.

Yep, thats the ones demanding payment in bitcoin or they will release videos they surreptitiously took of you or some such. I've had a few of those this week for the first time.

The only activity in my study (where the computer is) is me hoovering up spiders and the damn things seem to keep coming in. Maybe they sent the demand?

I'm holding back payment in hopes there is something interesting I get to see
